in law

I said

try prayer.

you must dedicate this sorrow to God.

that's who I am,
that's what I do.

She said,

I will not have
that
old,
bags under his eyes,
shuffle gaited,
sitter next to garbage cans and starer at the cosmos through bright airport windows,
coffee breath
old
GOD
in our house.

I said,

that
old,
bags under his eyes,
shuffle gaited,
sitter next to garbage cans and starer at the cosmos through bright airport windows,
coffee breath
old
GOD
is
MY FATHER.

Your dad stayed with us for like two weeks last year.
