Night Walk, slightly drunk

We got no cabs.
The dispatcher said we’d insulted an old lady,
Or his old lady.
We didn’t.

We walked over a bridge,
Across an island,
back to the hotel.
The cable tv.
The bath tub.
The left-over Indian food.
The choice of pillows—soft or firm.
