Gift Economy

Without a form I don’t know if it’s love.
I mean, I know. I feel. Something there is
that spills. That unicorny I’m aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiivethat’s love, & messy, crashing through the trees
but I don’t know, I need a telegram
FACEBOOK OFFICIAL STOP I SYMPATHIZE
a doily Valentine, some homemade jam,
a timeshare in the Hamptons, mix CDs
you know I’ve been an awful so I bake
for births & birthdays. Name spelled out in pearl
dragees. This casserole this chili mac
this crisp this home-cooked here I am good girl
But that’s such easy work, that joy. I guess I’ll
start brewing tearwater when I find the vessel
