iv. Identification

The Scramble,
The Wrangle,
The Logomachy,
The War.
The burden and liberty
Of being oneself,
In a marketplace—
The human barnyard.
The burden of identification.
The burden of bodies
and torsos,
Of Tauruses,
And bulls and bullshit.
The disjunction between
A familiar farmhouse,
a yawning youth—
Yes, me—
And a new kind
of cultivation.
A taxonomic theory
Of bulls and bears and
Brute sameness,
Varying varieties of
Genres and generic guys,
The guise,
The eyes,
No surprise.
