April Is

the moodiest month
not cruel but volatile
just wait, her smile
will flash up again
like bones on the
surface of the sea
& you'll forget
the soaked march
to the bay turn
away turn away
to a warm house
with wine & cobbler
down the way
& though they
wouldn't know you
stoned-wet or
they'll open the door
& wave you inside
