Look Up

Vision of my father working
at the library sweating over
accounts or statistics
He is 33 my age
avoiding the riot
of domestic space
I want him to come home
30 years later
I too work on Sundays
seek serene wings
in which to exercise
the parts of my brain
not aflame in chaos
