Suddenly, now

Suddenly the years have gone
And these friends are old friends too
We too can reminisce about the stupid things we did together
Recall when we were young and bored together
Remember those other people that we were
More like the younger people we run into sometimes than ourselves, now

Suddenly I get an email
And a new friend is revealed to be an old one
At least, someone once met among old old friends
"I think I just figured something out
We met then" when I went to visit my friend
Not my oldest, but among my dearest, now

Sudden coincidences that have been building over time
Make me giddy
Make me feel less alone
Make me look at old photos
Make me think-- the future too will see such crossings, such reconnections,
I am seeding them now
